Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed appointment letters to 187 newly selected candidates, including 182 PCS officers, stressing transparent recruitment, public service, and youth empowerment.
Dhami Distributes Appointment Letters to 187 Candidates
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday distributed appointment letters to 187 newly selected candidates, including 182 candidates selected through the Uttarakhand PCS Main Examination 2024 and five Personal Assistants appointed in the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department. The appointment ceremony was held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office.
‘Appointment Letter is a Symbol of Public Trust’
Addressing the newly appointed officers, the Chief Minister said the appointment letter is not merely an entry into government service but a symbol of the trust and expectations of over 12.5 million people of Uttarakhand. He urged the officers to serve with integrity, transparency, sensitivity, and dedication, adding that an officer’s identity should be defined by public service rather than by designation.
Transparent Recruitment Boosts Youth Confidence
Dhami highlighted that around 1.5 lakh candidates had applied for the Uttarakhand PCS Main Examination 2024, while over 71,000 candidates appeared, with only 182 candidates securing selection. He praised the successful candidates for their hard work, discipline, and determination.
The Chief Minister also reiterated that the state government has implemented one of the country’s toughest anti-cheating laws, ensuring transparency in recruitment examinations and restoring the confidence of young job aspirants.
Over 34,000 Government Jobs in Four-and-a-Half Years
The Chief Minister said the Uttarakhand government has provided more than 34,000 government jobs over the past four and a half years through transparent and merit-based recruitment. With the addition of 187 more appointments, the government’s commitment to youth employment has been further strengthened.
He said the administration is working to ensure talented youth find opportunities within Uttarakhand, reducing the need to migrate outside the state for employment.
Call to Build a Developed Uttarakhand
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making this decade “Uttarakhand’s Decade,” Dhami said newly appointed officers will play a crucial role in implementing government policies effectively at the grassroots level.
He assured that the state government would fully support officers who perform their duties honestly and impartially, urging them to uphold the Constitution, the rule of law, and public interest above all else.
