The Uttar Pradesh government has kept electricity tariffs unchanged for FY 2026-27 for the seventh consecutive year while achieving a record power supply of 32,673 MW.
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced that electricity tariffs will remain unchanged for the financial year 2026-27, marking the seventh consecutive year without any increase in power rates despite a steady rise in electricity demand across the state.
The decision brings significant relief to millions of electricity consumers, including households, farmers, traders, and industrial users. According to the state government, power tariffs have not been increased by even a single paisa over the past seven years.
Alongside maintaining stable electricity prices, the government highlighted major improvements in the state’s power infrastructure and supply network. Officials said electricity availability has improved considerably across both urban and rural areas, with continuous efforts to provide reliable, high-quality power to every city, village, road, and locality.
Uttar Pradesh also achieved a new milestone in power supply during the peak summer season, recording its highest-ever electricity supply of 32,673 MW, the largest in the state’s history.
State Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), stating that electricity tariffs will remain unchanged for all consumer categories in FY 2026-27, even as the state continues to deliver record levels of electricity supply.
The government said the move reflects its commitment to ensuring affordable electricity while strengthening the state’s power distribution system and improving consumer services.
