A major breakthrough has emerged in the investigation into the alleged Ram Mandir donation theft case after the first CCTV image of two accused inside the temple’s donation counting centre surfaced. The image is expected to play a significant role in strengthening the evidence gathered by investigators.
According to police sources, the CCTV still shows the accused inside the cash counting room, where donations from devotees were processed. Investigators believe the image supports allegations that the accused had unrestricted access to the counting area and exploited security lapses to siphon off cash over an extended period.
Security Lapses Under Investigation
Officials probing the case said the accused allegedly removed cash while the CCTV control room was not being actively monitored. The investigation has also revealed concerns over surveillance practices, including the routine deletion of CCTV footage after a fixed period, which may have delayed detection of the theft.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is continuing its investigation into the alleged embezzlement of temple donations. Authorities have already arrested multiple suspects, recovered cash and valuables during the probe, and are examining financial transactions and property linked to the accused.
