Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is strengthening cyber security and forensic capabilities by equipping officials with advanced digital investigation skills.
As part of this initiative, 40 officers from the Defence Accounts Department’s Regional Training Centre in Lucknow underwent specialized training in cyber security and digital forensics at the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science.
Addressing the programme, Founder Director Dr. G.K. Goswami said that crime has rapidly evolved in the digital age, making cyber awareness and digital vigilance essential for both individuals and institutions. He emphasized that cybercrime is no longer limited to the physical world and highlighted the growing importance of protecting digital assets.
Dr. Goswami also stressed that data has become one of the world’s most valuable resources. He noted that nations with strong technological capabilities and secure data ecosystems have emerged as global leaders by safeguarding their digital infrastructure.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Hemraj Meena explained the expanding role of cyber forensics in modern criminal investigations. During the training, participants visited the institute’s advanced DNA and Artificial Intelligence laboratories to understand how emerging technologies are helping forensic experts solve complex criminal cases with greater accuracy and efficiency.
The technical session on cyber security was delivered by Dr. Indrajeet. Public Relations Officer Santosh Tiwari conducted the programme, while Deputy Director Jitendra Srivastava proposed the vote of thanks. Senior officials, including Chiranjib Mukherjee, Atul Yadav, Dr. Anand Prakash, Amit Mishra, Rahul Dwivedi, Dr. Palak, Shailendra Singh, and Kartikeya, were also present.
The training programme reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s continued focus on enhancing cyber security, digital investigation, and forensic science capabilities to strengthen law enforcement and improve public safety across the state.
