India’s U-17 women’s football team has been drawn in Group E with Malaysia, Syria and Iraq for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers to be held in Malaysia from October 5-11, 2026.
New Delhi: India’s U-17 women’s football team has been placed in Group E alongside Malaysia, Syria and Iraq for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers, following the official draw held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur.
The Young Tigresses will be aiming to qualify for back-to-back editions of the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup after making their historic first-ever knockout stage appearance in the previous tournament.
Malaysia will host the Group E qualifying matches from October 5 to 11, 2026. India will begin their campaign against Iraq, followed by fixtures against Syria and hosts Malaysia in a single round-robin format. Only the group winner will secure a place in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2027, scheduled to be held in Suzhou from March 31 to April 17, 2027.
The qualifiers feature 30 teams divided into eight groups—six groups of four teams and two groups of three. The eight group winners will join the four directly qualified teams from the previous edition: DPR Korea, Japan, Australia, and China.
A strong performance in the continental tournament could also pave the way for qualification to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2027, with the semi-finalists earning World Cup berths.
