Dhanda then partnered Kynan Chenai to win India’s first Asian Games gold in the mixed trap team competition. Their winning score of 34 established a new Games record, improving on the previous mark of 30.

Gulveer Singh has emerged as India’s most prolific individual athletics medallist, earning silver in the 10,000m and 1,500m and bronze in the 5,000m. He was also part of the bronze-winning mixed 4x100m relay combination.

South Korea advanced to a record fourth consecutive men’s football final after beating China 2-1. Japan reached the final by defeating Uzbekistan on penalties.
South Korean badminton star An Se-young successfully defended her women’s singles gold medal. China’s Li Wenwen earned her first Asian Games weightlifting gold, while Uzbekistan’s Akbar Djuraev won the men’s 110kg title.

Can India Improve Its Ranking?
India is only one gold medal behind Bahrain and Iran, although Iran has a significantly higher silver-medal total. Kazakhstan is immediately behind India with nine gold medals and could overtake it if its athletes win additional titles.
India still has medal opportunities across cricket, hockey, archery, shooting, squash, boxing, wrestling and other events. The Games continue until October 4, so the present ranking and tally are provisional.
