Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam: The Conclusion, the final Hindi film in the thriller franchise, releasing on October 2, 2026.
Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited Drishyam 3, officially titled Drishyam: The Conclusion, will bring the Hindi crime-thriller franchise to an end. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026.
Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, the fiercely protective family man whose elaborate strategies have kept investigators guessing across the first two films. The final chapter is expected to resolve the secrets and unresolved conflicts surrounding the Salgaonkar family.
Hindi ‘Drishyam’ Story Gets a Separate Ending
Director Abhishek Pathak has confirmed that the third film will conclude the Hindi franchise. Significantly, its storyline will differ from the Malayalam Drishyam series starring Mohanlal.
The Hindi version will therefore not operate as a straightforward remake of the Malayalam third instalment. Instead, the two franchises are following separate narrative paths, giving Vijay Salgaonkar and Georgekutty different conclusions.
Pathak said the team considered multiple screenplay options before choosing the story that offered the most satisfying conclusion. The director also indicated that the film was not created merely to extend a commercially successful franchise.
Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran Return
Ajay Devgn leads the cast alongside Tabu and Shriya Saran. Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor and Prakash Raj are also associated with the concluding chapter, while Jaideep Ahlawat joins the franchise in an important role.
Akshaye Khanna, who played investigating officer Tarun Ahlawat in Drishyam 2, is not returning. Pathak said the change required adjustments to the screenplay before Jaideep Ahlawat joined the cast.
The official trailer presents another high-stakes confrontation in which Vijay must protect his family while investigators attempt to uncover the truth behind the long-running case.
Runtime and Certification
Drishyam: The Conclusion has reportedly received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. Its approved runtime is approximately two hours and 30 minutes.
The October 2 release date continues the franchise’s close connection with Gandhi Jayanti, a date repeatedly referenced in the earlier films as part of Vijay’s carefully constructed alibi.
The first Hindi Drishyam was released in 2015, followed by Drishyam 2 in 2022. The third film now promises a definitive resolution to Vijay Salgaonkar’s story while preserving the suspense and moral ambiguity that helped make the franchise popular.
