Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for ₹33,500 crore worth of development projects in Delhi, including new Metro corridors, housing redevelopment, and major urban infrastructure initiatives.
New Delhi, August 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth nearly ₹33,500 crore in the national capital, marking one of the biggest infrastructure pushes for Delhi in recent years.
The ambitious package includes the launch of two new Delhi Metro corridors and the foundation stone for three additional Phase 5A Metro corridors, aimed at improving connectivity, reducing travel time, and supporting the city’s growing transportation needs.
Apart from Metro expansion, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate key Government Residential Accommodation (GPRA) redevelopment projects. These housing initiatives are designed to provide modern residential facilities for government employees while enhancing urban infrastructure across the capital.
The projects cover multiple sectors, including urban transport, housing, public infrastructure, and city development, and are expected to generate significant employment opportunities while boosting economic activity.
The government said the investment reflects its continued focus on building world-class infrastructure and transforming Delhi into a more sustainable, connected, and citizen-friendly city.
The Metro expansion is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve last-mile connectivity, and encourage greater use of public transport, contributing to cleaner and more efficient urban mobility.
