The findings suggest that both work-related environments and personal health habits play an important role in determining an individual’s risk.
The study identified several contributing factors, including obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, poor dietary habits, limited physical activity, and certain workplace conditions. Employees with unhealthy lifestyles were found to have a greater likelihood of developing elevated uric acid levels compared with those who maintained healthier routines.
Researchers noted that prolonged sedentary work, irregular work schedules, and insufficient exercise may further increase the risk of hyperuricemia. The findings highlight the importance of workplace wellness initiatives and lifestyle interventions to reduce long-term health risks among employees.
Experts say early screening, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and moderating alcohol intake can help lower uric acid levels and reduce the risk of gout, kidney stones, and cardiovascular complications.
