UP Launches Digi Rover Campaign to Fast-Track Land Measurement, Resolve 79,000+ Pending Cases
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched the statewide Digi Rover (GNSS) Special Land Measurement Campaign, a technology-driven initiative aimed at making land measurement more accurate, transparent, and efficient while accelerating the disposal of thousands of pending land demarcation cases across Uttar Pradesh.
The special campaign began on July 1 in Saharanpur and will continue until August 15, covering every tehsil in the state. During the campaign, pending land measurement and demarcation cases will be resolved using advanced Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based Digi Rover technology, replacing conventional measurement methods.
Technology to Improve Accuracy and Reduce Land Disputes
Launching the campaign, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to delivering land-related services through a transparent, time-bound, and technology-enabled system.
He said traditional land measurement methods using measuring chains often resulted in inaccuracies and disputes. The adoption of Digi Rover (GNSS) technology will ensure precise land measurement, reduce errors in demarcation, minimize litigation, and provide faster revenue services to citizens.
According to the Chief Minister, the initiative represents a major step toward technology-driven governance and will strengthen the efficiency and accountability of the state’s revenue administration.
79,000+ Pending Cases to Be Cleared
The state government has identified approximately 79,157 pending land measurement and demarcation cases under Section 24 across Uttar Pradesh. These cases will be disposed of in mission mode during the campaign, providing long-awaited relief to farmers and landowners.
The government also aims to establish a modern land measurement system that prevents future disputes while reducing the need for repeated visits to government offices.
Strict Monitoring Across the State
Chief Minister Yogi directed all Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Revenue Inspectors, and Lekhpals to implement the campaign with complete transparency and seriousness.
Officials have been instructed to ensure that land measurements strictly follow technical standards and that every eligible citizen receives timely and fair services.
Board of Revenue to Oversee Campaign
The Uttar Pradesh Board of Revenue has issued detailed operational guidelines to all districts.
Board of Revenue Chairperson Archana Agrawal will oversee the campaign’s implementation, while the Commissioner and Secretary of the Board of Revenue will regularly monitor progress and review performance.
Archana Agrawal said coordinated efforts by revenue officials across all districts would help dispose of the maximum number of pending land measurement cases within the campaign period. She added that the initiative will significantly reduce land disputes, protect farmers’ land rights, and strengthen technology-driven good governance in Uttar Pradesh.
