Devotional film Hanuman Ansh has earned around ₹156 crore gross against a reported ₹2-crore budget, delivering nearly 78 times its investment.
Low-budget devotional drama Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of Indian cinema’s biggest surprise successes of 2026, earning approximately ₹156 crore gross after 32 days in theatres.
Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film was reportedly produced for about ₹2 crore. Its latest earnings represent nearly 78 times its production investment—an exceptional box-office return for a film released without major stars or an expensive promotional campaign.
The film earned an estimated ₹132.13 crore net in India during its first 32 days, translating to approximately ₹155.94 crore in domestic gross collections. Since its wider international release is scheduled for September 11, the widely reported ₹156-crore figure appears to refer primarily to its Indian gross rather than a completed worldwide total.

Modest Opening Turns Into Historic Run
Released on August 7, Hanuman Ansh reportedly earned only ₹10 lakh on its opening day. Its performance remained modest during the initial weeks before strong audience recommendations and interest among devotees produced an extraordinary turnaround.
Momentum increased significantly during the third week, encouraging exhibitors to add thousands of screenings. The film registered its highest daily collection during its fifth weekend, demonstrating unusual growth more than a month after release.
Inspired by the life and spiritual teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, the film features Shobhinaw Satyaa in the leading role. The cast also includes Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Anil Rastogi and Purnima Tiwari.
The film’s lack of established stars has made its commercial success even more remarkable. Reports indicate that Satyaa, who portrays Neem Karoli Baba, received approximately ₹15 lakh, while several supporting cast members were paid between ₹3 lakh and ₹8 lakh.
Hanuman Ansh demonstrates how positive word of mouth and a strong connection with a specific audience can transform a small independent production into a major theatrical success. Its international rollout could now expand the film’s reach among the Indian diaspora and followers of Neem Karoli Baba worldwide.
