New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has appealed to all political parties to cooperate in ensuring the smooth functioning of both Houses and facilitate meaningful discussions on key national issues.
Speaking before the session, Rijiju emphasized that Parliament is the highest democratic institution and urged both the government and the Opposition to engage in constructive debates rather than disruptions. He said the government is prepared to discuss all important issues within the framework of parliamentary rules and procedures.
The minister expressed hope that lawmakers would prioritize public interest and legislative business, allowing Parliament to function efficiently during the session. He also stressed the importance of dialogue and consensus in strengthening India’s democratic process.
The Monsoon Session is expected to witness discussions on several significant bills, economic issues, national security, and matters concerning governance. The government is also likely to introduce new legislation while seeking the passage of pending bills.
Meanwhile, Opposition parties are expected to raise a range of issues, including inflation, unemployment, internal security, and other matters of public concern, setting the stage for intense debates in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
