New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has designated 23 Pakistan-based individuals as terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), intensifying India’s efforts to curb cross-border terrorism and strengthen national security.
According to the latest notification, the individuals have been accused of involvement in terror financing, recruitment, planning attacks, and supporting terrorist activities targeting India. The government stated that the move aims to dismantle terror networks operating from across the border and prevent their activities from threatening India’s sovereignty and public safety.
The designation under the UAPA empowers authorities to initiate stricter legal action, freeze assets, monitor financial transactions, and strengthen enforcement against those linked to the listed individuals. The Home Ministry said the decision was based on credible intelligence inputs and evidence gathered by security agencies.
The latest additions expand India’s list of designated terrorists under the UAPA and reflect the government’s continued policy of taking strong action against individuals involved in cross-border terrorism.
The move comes amid heightened security concerns and ongoing efforts by Indian agencies to combat terrorism through legal, diplomatic, and intelligence measures.
