Tamil cinema icons C Joseph Vijay and Ajith Kumar shared a warm reunion at the Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom, creating a memorable moment for their fans worldwide.
Videos circulating online showed Vijay walking—and in one clip running—towards Ajith before the two embraced warmly. They later greeted supporters together, drawing loud cheers from fans gathered at the celebrated British motorsport venue. The footage quickly went viral across social-media platforms.
The meeting took place during the Silverstone round of the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup, where Ajith competed for the Ajith RedAnt by Virage team. He shared the No. 16 Ligier racing car with French driver Romain Vozniak in the LMP3 Pro/Am category. The championship had officially confirmed Ajith’s participation in the 2026 season earlier this year.
Vijay attended the international racing event as a special guest and waved the ceremonial green flag to begin the two-hour race. His appearance brought together entertainment, politics and motorsport at one of the world’s best-known racing circuits.
Ajith reportedly thanked Vijay for taking time out of his official schedule to support him and the other Indian drivers competing at Silverstone. He also expressed hope that Chennai could eventually develop a world-class racing facility capable of hosting major international competitions.
Reports said the Ajith RedAnt by Virage entry finished 38th overall after encountering difficulties during the race. Vijay watched the action from the circuit, where actors Trisha Krishnan and Radhika Sarathkumar were also seen during the race weekend.
The reunion attracted exceptional attention because Vijay and Ajith have been regarded as two of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars for more than three decades. Although their fan groups have frequently portrayed them as rivals, the actors have repeatedly displayed mutual respect.
Their affectionate Silverstone meeting offered fans a rare public moment of friendship while also highlighting Ajith’s growing presence in international motorsport.
