Meta has unveiled Muse Charm, a keychain-sized AI device with voice interaction, a display, camera and 5G. Check its features, launch timeline and availability.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled the Muse Charm, a pocket-sized AI device designed to provide instant access to the company’s Muse personal assistant without requiring users to unlock a smartphone or open an app.
The device was revealed during Zuckerberg’s closing “one more thing” presentation at Meta Connect 2026 in Menlo Park, California. Meta is targeting a December holiday launch, although its price, markets and complete specifications have not yet been announced.
What Is the Meta Muse Charm?
The Muse Charm resembles a small keychain gadget or digital Tamagotchi. Its compact display shows an animated avatar representing the Muse AI assistant.
Users can tap the fingerprint sensor located in one corner of the device to begin a real-time voice conversation. Zuckerberg said Meta had placed Muse’s voice and avatar technology inside a product small enough to fit on a keychain.
The device reportedly features an approximately two-inch touchscreen, a front-facing camera, microphones, speakers, USB-C charging and built-in 5G connectivity. The camera allows users to show Muse objects or surroundings while requesting information or assistance.
However, Meta is still finalising the internal component layout and exterior materials, meaning some hardware details could change before release.
What Can Muse Charm Do?
Muse Charm is built around Meta’s recently launched Muse AI agent, which can perform tasks on a user’s behalf instead of simply answering questions.
Muse can reportedly send emails, complete forms, find documents, organise files, book tickets and summarise information from connected services. It can also remember details from earlier conversations and use them while completing future assignments.
Meta has expanded Muse with integrations for services including Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora and Instacart. The company also plans to make Muse the main conversational interface across its smart-glasses lineup.
Muse Charm requires a Muse account and is expected to be configured and synchronised using the Muse mobile app.
Privacy Questions Remain
Meta says Muse operates inside a dedicated secure virtual computer known as Muse Secure VM. The company has also announced an upcoming Confidential VM option, which it says will prevent even Meta from accessing certain personal information processed by Muse.
Despite those safeguards, the device’s camera, microphones and always-available AI functions are likely to raise questions about recording, consent and data collection. Meta has not yet fully explained how the Charm will indicate when its camera or microphone is active.
Price and India Availability
Meta has not announced the Muse Charm’s price or confirmed whether it will be available in India at launch.
The company aims to begin shipping the device in December 2026, but the timetable remains provisional because its final hardware design is still being completed.
