Kangana Ranaut has responded to Hrithik Roshan’s remarks on the viral ‘We Need to Apologise to Hrithik Roshan’ trend, urging him to stop encouraging online trolling and respect his current relationship.
Mumbai : Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has strongly reacted to Hrithik Roshan’s recent comments on the viral “We Need to Apologise to Hrithik Roshan” social media trend, asking the actor not to fuel online harassment against her.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, Kangana addressed Hrithik directly and said she was happy to see him in a committed relationship with actor-singer Saba Azad, but urged him to discourage people from trolling her.
“Dear Hrithik, I am happy that you have found your perfect match, Saba Azad. You both look great together. It doesn’t suit you to tease a woman like this. Instead, you should condemn all those who are harassing and bullying me using your name,” Kangana wrote.
She further added that Hrithik should “stop adding fuel to the fire” and avoid making comments that could create unnecessary controversy.
What Triggered the Viral Trend?
The online debate resurfaced after a social media campaign titled “We Need to Apologise to Hrithik Roshan” gained momentum following Kangana’s recent remarks on student protests over education reforms and the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Influencer Freddy Birdy shared a post suggesting that the public owed Hrithik an apology. Responding in the comments, Hrithik said people should not support one side simply because they dislike the other.
“I’ll wait for when the context is the right one and motivated by facts. That would be fair,” Hrithik commented, while also expressing concern over the way public narratives are shaped.
The 2016 Legal Dispute
The controversy between Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan dates back to 2016, when Hrithik filed a police complaint alleging that someone had impersonated him through a fake email account used to communicate with Kangana.
Kangana maintained that Hrithik himself had shared the email address with her and claimed they had exchanged emails during 2013 and 2014. Hrithik later sent Kangana a legal notice after she referred to him as her “silly ex,” denying that they had ever been in a relationship.
The high-profile dispute remained in the spotlight for years and continues to resurface on social media.
Hrithik and Saba Azad
Hrithik Roshan has been in a relationship with actor-singer Saba Azad for the past few years. The couple made their first public appearance together at filmmaker Karan Johar’s 50th birthday celebration and have since frequently shared moments from their travels and personal life on social media.
Before dating Saba, Hrithik was married to Sussanne Khan. The former couple, who share two sons, officially divorced in 2014 but continue to co-parent their children.
