India has signed 24 international agreements to share its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), including India Stack, while investing over ₹1,335 crore through the Electronics Development Fund to strengthen startups and innovation.
New Delhi: India has taken another major step towards becoming a global digital technology leader, with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announcing that the country has signed 24 international agreements to share its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), including the globally acclaimed India Stack.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to promote India’s digital governance model and strengthen technological cooperation with partner countries.
India Stack Gains Global Recognition
India Stack, which powers digital services such as Aadhaar authentication, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), DigiLocker, eKYC, and digital document verification, has emerged as a global benchmark for secure and inclusive digital public infrastructure.
By signing agreements with 24 countries, India aims to help partner nations adopt scalable and cost-effective digital solutions for public service delivery, financial inclusion, and digital governance.
₹1,335 Crore Boost for Innovation
MeitY also announced that more than ₹1,335 crore has been invested through the Electronics Development Fund (EDF) to support technology startups, innovation, and deep-tech research across the country.
The funding is expected to accelerate the growth of Indian startups working in areas such as:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Semiconductors
- Electronics manufacturing
- Cybersecurity
- Digital infrastructure
- Emerging technologies
Strengthening India’s Digital Economy
Officials said the government remains focused on positioning India as a global hub for digital innovation, electronics manufacturing, and semiconductor development.
With continued investments under initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission, expansion of Digital Public Infrastructure, and support for startups, India is steadily strengthening its position in the global technology ecosystem.
Industry experts believe the international adoption of India Stack will further enhance India’s reputation as a leader in digital transformation and create new opportunities for Indian technology companies worldwide.
