Mumbai: Actor Bobby Deol has firmly denied rumours of any disagreement with Alia Bhatt during the filming of the upcoming YRF Spy Universe movie Alpha, calling both Alia and her husband Ranbir Kapoor among his favourite actors.
Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat, Bobby laughed off reports suggesting tensions between him and Alia on the sets of the action thriller.
“A friend shared a snapshot of that news with me. I was shocked. People are so free that they say anything,” Bobby said, dismissing speculation surrounding the alleged fallout.
Bobby Deol Praises Alia Bhatt’s Work Ethic
The actor revealed that after playing the antagonist opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the blockbuster film Animal (2023), he was offered a major role in Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt.
“After working with Ranbir in Animal, I got an opportunity to work with Alia. I thought, how lucky am I to work with two of my favourites,” Bobby shared.
He went on to praise Alia’s professionalism and dedication, particularly highlighting her preparation for the film’s action sequences.
“Alia is such a good actor. She is extremely hardworking and professional. She came fully prepared and was deeply invested in her action scenes,” he said.
‘Alpha’ Set to Expand YRF Spy Universe
Produced by Yash Raj Films and backed by producer Aditya Chopra, Alpha is the latest installment in the successful YRF Spy Universe, which includes blockbuster franchises such as Pathaan, Tiger, and War.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, known for Netflix’s The Railway Men, the action thriller stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol in key roles. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 3.
Bobby Deol Calls Alia One of the Most Sincere Actors
In a recent interview, Bobby further praised Alia’s commitment to the role, noting that action films were a relatively new challenge for her.
“Alia is one of the most hardworking and sincere actors I’ve worked with. Action is difficult, and she gave it everything she had. Watching her preparation was impressive,” he said.
Bobby Deol and Pooja Bhatt’s Past Relationship Resurfaces
During discussions surrounding the film, attention also turned to Bobby’s past relationship with actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt’s elder sister.
Pooja recently reflected on their brief romance, describing it as a special chapter in her life. While choosing not to discuss the reasons behind their breakup, she expressed admiration for Bobby’s recent success and praised his performance in Animal.
“I loved him in Animal. For me, he made the film. I’m very happy for him and the resurgence he is enjoying in his career,” Pooja said.
With Alpha generating significant buzz ahead of its release, Bobby Deol’s comments have helped put to rest rumours of any on-set conflict, while highlighting his admiration for both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
