Chief Minister Launches 114 Development Projects Worth Rs 392 Crore in Mau
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday issued a strong warning against mafia elements and criminals while addressing a public gathering in Mau district. He asserted that law and order in Uttar Pradesh has transformed completely since 2017 and declared that no criminal now has the courage to disrupt religious events or threaten traders and women.
The Chief Minister made the remarks while inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 114 development projects worth over Rs 392 crore at Gandhi Maidan in Mau.
“Those Disrupting Religious Events Will Meet Fate of Ravana and Kansa”
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi said anyone attempting to disturb Ramleela, Ram Navami, Janmashtami, Shivratri, Raksha Bandhan, Yagya or any religious event would face strict consequences.
“Anyone disrupting religious programmes will meet the same fate as Ravana and Kansa,” the Chief Minister said.
He further stated that criminals threatening the safety of daughters and traders would ultimately face punishment.
“No mafia can now roam around in open jeeps waving pistols and threatening Hindus,” he said.
CM Yogi Targets Previous SP Government Over Law and Order
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly criticised the previous Samajwadi Party government, alleging that mafia elements operated freely under political protection before 2017.
Recalling earlier incidents in Mau, he said riots during the Bharat Milap programme in 2005 had created fear and instability in the district.
“Under political patronage, mafia elements disrupted Ramleela events and innocent Hindus were attacked. SP leaders used to tremble before the mafia,” he alleged.
The Chief Minister claimed that before 2017, traders feared operating after sunset, daughters were unsafe, and religious programmes faced repeated disruptions.

- Around 2.75 crore households now have toilets
- Nearly 16 crore people are receiving free ration

He alleged that previous governments failed to deliver basic facilities to poor citizens despite ruling for decades.
Development Work Progressing Rapidly Across Uttar Pradesh
Highlighting infrastructure growth in the state, CM Yogi said roads, bridges, flood protection projects, tourism centres, power infrastructure and healthcare services are expanding continuously under the “double-engine government”.
He added that youth employment schemes, women empowerment programmes and farmer welfare initiatives are being implemented across the state.
“The money meant for development is now being spent on development, and funds meant for the poor are reaching the poor directly,” he said.
CM Highlights Ram Mandir and Kashi Vishwanath Development
The Chief Minister also spoke about the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, calling them symbols of cultural pride and national revival.
“A single vote helped erase the stain of 500 years of slavery through the construction of Ram Mandir,” he said.
He added that the same public mandate also helped strengthen law and order and eliminate riots and curfews in Uttar Pradesh.

He assured that funds would be released once the proposal is received and reiterated the government’s commitment to farmer welfare.
