India produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Pakistan by seven wickets in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan elected to bat first but struggled against India’s disciplined spin attack and were bowled out for only 55 in 18.1 overs—their lowest total in women’s T20 international cricket.
Shree Charani led India’s bowling effort with impressive figures of three wickets for seven runs from four overs. Prema Rawat also claimed three wickets, conceding only nine runs. Deepti Sharma picked up two wickets, while Shafali Verma added another as Pakistan’s batting order collapsed.
Chasing a modest target of 56, India encountered an early wobble as Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal were dismissed. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana claimed all three wickets, briefly reducing India to 29 for three.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma then steadied the innings with an unbeaten partnership. Harmanpreet scored 18 not out and sealed the victory with a six, while Deepti remained unbeaten on 12. India reached 57 for three in just 8.4 overs, completing the chase with 68 deliveries remaining.
The match was also significant for Harmanpreet, who became the first cricketer—male or female—to captain a national team in 150 T20 internationals. Shree Charani was named Player of the Match for her match-winning bowling performance.
