Apple is reportedly set to refresh the iPhone 18 Pro lineup with a new premium colour option, as leaked dummy units suggest the company is replacing the Cosmic Orange finish with a striking new Dark Cherry variant.
The latest leak, shared by well-known tipster Sonny Dickson on X, offers a first look at what could be the four official colour options for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series. According to the leaked images, Apple is expected to launch the flagship models in Dark Cherry, Black, Silver, and Light Blue.
The Dark Cherry finish is expected to replace last year’s Cosmic Orange colour, signalling Apple’s shift toward a more refined and premium design aesthetic for its next-generation flagship smartphones.
Minimal Design Changes Expected
Despite the new colour refresh, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to retain a design largely similar to the iPhone 17 Pro series.
Previous leaks from YouTuber Vadim Yuryev suggest Apple may introduce slightly thicker camera modules this year. Reports indicate that the black glass camera housing could protrude more compared to its predecessor.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is reportedly expected to be marginally thicker than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, likely to accommodate upgraded camera hardware and internal components.
Smaller Dynamic Island and Display Upgrades
Apple is tipped to maintain the same display sizes, with the iPhone 18 Pro featuring a 6.3-inch display and the Pro Max carrying a 6.9-inch screen.
However, one of the biggest visual upgrades could be a significantly smaller Dynamic Island, reportedly shrinking by up to 35% as Apple moves more Face ID components beneath the display.
Major Camera Improvements
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to feature a triple 48MP rear camera setup, with the standout addition being a variable aperture system for the main sensor.
This feature would allow users to manually control light intake, enabling improved depth-of-field effects and enhanced low-light photography performance.
Powered by Apple’s A20 Pro Chip
Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to debut Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chipset, built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process.
The chip is tipped to deliver up to 15% faster performance and 30% better power efficiency compared to the A19 series.
Apple may also introduce its in-house C2 modem, replacing Qualcomm’s modem technology. The new modem is expected to offer faster mmWave 5G speeds, lower heat generation, and improved battery efficiency.
Satellite Internet Connectivity Could Arrive
Another major rumoured feature is support for 5G NR-NTN (New Radio Non-Terrestrial Networks), potentially enabling full internet connectivity via satellite when traditional mobile networks are unavailable.
If true, this could mark a major leap in iPhone connectivity capabilities.
